Discussion/approval/disapproval of a fiscal agent/grant agreement with the Ak Chin Indian Community and Raising Special Kids (RSK). Under Resolution No. 070120- AKCHIN-RSK, the Board of Supervisors authorized Raising Special Kids to submit an application and consented to serve as the fiscal agent should the organization be awarded. Discussion/approval/disapproval to apply for the National Children’s Alliance (NCA) Expanding Access to Children’s Advocacy Centers’ Resources and Services for Victims of Child Pornography and Human Trafficking (DTVF) grant. The funding from this grant will be utilized to provide specialized training to Family Advocacy Center (FAC) staff in forensic interviewing and victim service provision for victims of trafficking and child pornography. Staff receiving this specialized training will include forensic interviewers, victim advocates, the Family Advocacy Center Manager and a forensic nurse. (Kent Volkmer) * L. Discussion/approval/disapproval request to apply for the National Children’s Alliance (NCA) Established, Improvement, and Expansion of Children’s Advocacy Centers (NSP). If awarded, these funds will assist in purchasing equipment for the Pinal County Attorney’s Office, Family Advocacy Centers. The National Children’s Alliance (NCA) is the national association and accrediting body for Children’s Advocacy Centers. Formed in 1988, NCA has been providing support, technological assistance and quality assurance for advocacy centers while serving as a voice for abused children for more than 25 years. Awards through this funding program are only offered competitively to accredited advocacy centers. The PCAO San Tan Valley and Eloy Family Advocacy Centers are NCA accredited centers. Discussion/approval/disapproval for the Intergovernmental Agreement between Pinal County and Central Arizona Valley Institute of Technology for the purpose of transferring ownership of two 2009 Ford Crown Victoria VIN# 2FAHP71VX9X125044 and VIN# 2FAHP71C59X125047 from the County to CAVIT in the amount of $1.00. Work Session to discuss case PZ-PA-005-20, Pinal County, requesting approval of a Major Comprehensive Plan Amendment to the 2019 Pinal County Comprehensive Plan to amend the text of Chapter 3, Sense of Community, subchapter Land Use - Goals, Objectives and Policies (pp.91,105), Chapter 6, Open Spaces & Places, subchapter Goals, Objectives and Policies (p.242), and Chapter 7, Environmental Stewardship, subchapter Environmental Planning (p.267). The proposed amendment will modify the referenced chapters by modifying goals objectives and policies relating to riparian areas, wildlife corridors, and foothills, referencing and promoting the Arizona Game and Fish Department’s on-line Environmental Review Tool (ERT), and by promoting the Pinal County and Arizona Birding Trails and other watchable wildlife opportunities within Pinal County.
