SCAAP provides federal payments to states and localities that incurred correctional officer salary costs for incarcerating undocumented criminal aliens with at least one felony or two misdemeanor convictions for violations to state and local law and incarcerated for at least 4 consecutive days during a reporting period. Adult Probation will request up to $715,000 for a three year grant period beginning October 1, 2021. No match is required. This project will provide personnel (two new probation officers and one new supervisor), cloud based software (learning management system, training curricula, tracking software), and consultancy to improve our implementation of evidence based practices. Currently officers are trying to acquire new evidence based skills from peer coaches, while both the officers and the peer coaches are managing full caseloads. (Rod McKone) *AO. Discussion/approval/disapproval of the Pinal County Attorney’s Office request for approval to apply for the Drug, Gang, and Violent Crime Control grant through the Arizona Criminal Justice Commission to commence on July 1, 2021, and terminate June 30, 2022, to enhance drug, gang or violent crime control efforts to deter, investigate, prosecute, adjudicate and punish drug, gang and related offenders.
