(14) Discussion/approval/disapproval to temporarily suspend the implementation of Resolution No. 110123-CD until further clarification, analysis, and support of the process and method utilized for the fee increases can be presented by the department, and if necessary, the authorization of a fee study to validate the fees implemented by Resolution No. 110123-CD can be presented to the Board, and to apply the previous fee structure to any pending applications while the suspension is in effect. (7) Presentation of the updated Pinal County Workforce Development Board (PCWDB) Strategic Plan. The strategic plan includes the PCWDB's goals and strategies to achieve its mission. That mission includes being responsible for strengthening the ARIZONA@WORK Pinal County Workforce Development System. These strategies are based upon the desired outcomes of continuous improvement through innovation and the alignment of employment, training and education programs to promote economic growth. The 2023 PCWDB Strategic Plan was developed with input from board members at a series of three meetings facilitated by Sheila Murphy, LLC. This plan represents an update to the original PCWDB Strategic Plan, which was completed in 2020. (Joel Millman/James Smith)
(16) Discussion/approval/disapproval of a Strategic Alliance Agreement with the Greater Phoenix Economic Council (GPEC) to provide economic development services for the period of January 1, 2024, through June 30, 2024. GPEC's services will include marketing and promotion of the County, prospecting for additional businesses in targeted industries, and strengthening regional economic development cooperation. It is important to note that this agreement will ensure that all Pinal County communities will be provided services by GPEC. Currently, Apache Junction, Queen Creek, Maricopa, and Casa Grande are members, and this agreement will not change the memberships those communities have in GPEC. The County is authorized by A.R.S. 11-254 and 11-254.04 to conduct and make expenditures for economic development activities which are determined by the Board to assist in the creation or retention of jobs or otherwise promote the economic welfare of the inhabitants of the County. (Applicant & Owner), requesting approval of a Rezone to Neighborhood Commercial (C-1) Zoning District for the construction and operation of a drive-through restaurant, on a 0.49± acre parcel in the Transitional Zone (TR) Zoning District; tax parcel 104-12-001M – legal on file – situated in a portion of Section 08, Township 01 South, Range 09 East, of the Gila & Salt River Meridian Baseline, Pinal County, Arizona, located east of E. US Highway 60 and north of S. Kings Ranch Road in an unincorporated area of Gold Canyon, Arizona.
