(7)AB. Discussion/approval/disapproval of partial abatement on improvement assessment only for 2012-2018 and 2023 taxes pursuant to A.R.S. 42-18351.1 and A.R.S. 42-18352.D, for parcel 411-08-12601. The parcel was assessed as land with improvements; per Assessor field check, the parcel is only vacant land. Prior years requires Board of Supervisor's approval for abatement. Supervisor District #3. (7)W. Discussion/approval/disapproval of Award Agreement 21-LE-11031200-039 Modification 4 under the Tonto National Forest between the USDA Forest Service and Pinal County, through the Pinal County Board of Supervisors, beginning March 1, 2024, ending May 31, 2027, for $14,000. This grant will be used by the Sheriff's Office Search and Rescue Team to assist in patrolling campsites and other service areas within Tonto National Forest. Acceptance requires an amendment to the FY 24/25 budget to transfer reserve appropriation from Fund 213 (Grants/Project Contingency) to Fund 113 (Sheriff Search & Rescue) to increase revenue and expenditure appropriations. (7)AC. Discussion/approval/disapproval to accept the Award Amendment for the AmeriCorps Program between the Arizona Supreme Court Administrative Office of the Courts and Pinal County through the Pinal County Board of Supervisors in the amount of $5,433. The amendment increases the award total to $20,644. The Adult Probation Office will use the award to pay the volunteers that are assigned to this AmeriCorps Program. Acceptance requires an amendment to align the FY 24/25 budget to the award amount and transfers reserve appropriation from Fund 213 (Grants/Project Contingency) to Fund 221 (Adult Prob/GPS) to increase revenues and expenditures. (7)X. Discussion/approval/disapproval to accept funding from the Arizona Department of Public Safety, under Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) regarding A.R.S. 41-1724 for $500,000. This funding will be used by the Sheriff's Office to enforce immigration, human smuggling, drug smuggling, gangs, and employer-sanction laws (GITEM). The funding was adopted in the FY 24/25 budget. There is no impact on the General Fund. (Ross Teeple)
(8) Call to the Public— A "call to the public" is the time period for members of the public to address the Board of Supervisors to provide public input relating to subject matter within the Board of Supervisors authority or jurisdiction. Those wishing to address the Board of Supervisors need not request permission in advance. Action taken as a result of public comment will be limited to directing staff to study the matter or rescheduling it for further consideration and decision at a later date.
